Winter: The cross country ski tracks are a 3 minute walk from the hotel. There is a ski bus to Seefeld (free to ski ticket holders) is a 5 minute walk from the hotel and we can arrange to take and pick people up at the bus stop or arrange for skis to be left at the bus stop. Located in the village of Leutasch, is the Hochmoos ski area which it offers around 10 km of slopes and is suitable for beginners to experienced skiers / snowboarders. There is a three-seater chairlift plus two drag tows all the way to the peak of the Katzenkopf mountain. There is also a shuttle bus service to Wildmoos which is free of charge for those with a valid ski pass. Situated at an altitude of between 1,100 and 1,360 m above sea level and just 5 minutes walk from Hotel Pension Schweizerhof.

The closest downhill ski area in Leutasch has direct access to 6km of downhill skiing, with 4 individual pistes, served by 6 ski lifts only a 10 minute walk away. Seefeld (10 mins away by car/bus) is part of the Olympia Region Seefeld ski area with access to 27km of downhill skiing, with 19 individual pistes, served by 23 ski lifts. In addition to the skiing in Seefeld itself (27km of pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Olympia Region Seefeld ski resort of Mösern. Hotel Pension Schweizerhof is also in the centre of many large ski areas all within 1 hour of the hotel for those who don’t want to ski the same region each day.

However there is an excellent bus service that travels to all the surrounding areas and to Seefeld where there is a train station to Innsbruck or Mittenwald Germany direction. Also the local taxi service is very good and we can arrange good rates in advance for those who wish to utilise their services.

Bus Travel

A regional bus ticket costing € 12.00, guests can make use of all the public service buses in the Olympiaregion Seefeld to travel between the villages of Seefeld, Leutasch, Mösern/Buchen, Reith and Scharnitz throughout the duration of their holiday. For journeys outside these villages, the VVT tariffs (local public transport network tariffs) apply.

NB: The regional bus ticket, is available for purchase in all the information offices of the Olympiaregion Seefeld or at the most hotel or guesthouses. (It is not available for purchase in the buses themselves.) Children up to the age of 15 carrying a ‘Olympiaregion Seefeld Card‘ and skiers with a valid ski pass travelling to and from the ski areas, travel free of charge. Holders of cross-country ski tickets enjoy free use of the local buses during the respective validity period.

Guests arriving by train, upon showing confirmation of an accommodation reservation in the Olympiaregion Seefeld, can travel free of charge (within Austria national territory) to the bus stop closest to their holiday accommodation. Upon presentation of their guest card, guests can, likewise, travel free of charge when departing at the end of their holiday. In accordance with the current valid conditions of the transportation company, dogs can be taken free of charge. They must, however, wear leashes and muzzles.

Detailed bus timetables are available free of charge in all the information offices. The Seefeld ski and shuttle bus is free of charge; charges apply to the ‘Wildmoos’ bus (Seefeld – Wildmoosalm) and to the following routes: Leutasch – Mittenwald (and return), Scharnitz – Mittenwald (and return), Mösern/Buchen – Telfs (and return).
